Intermediate Level - April Session - Afterschool Art Club - Ages 10-15 -Tuesday Only
🌸April Art Club: Flowers & Bugs!
Spring is here, and we are celebrating with color, texture, and tiny magical worlds!
Intermediate Level Ages 10-15: Our intermediate class is designed for students who are ready to explore more advanced art concepts and techniques. Artists in this group will work on more complex projects, strengthen technical skills, and begin making creative decisions independently. This class encourages deeper thinking, experimentation, and artistic growth while still offering instruction and support. It’s ideal for students who enjoy art, want to be challenged, and are ready to take their skills further.
Group 1 April Session Dates - All Classes are held on Tuesday Only from 430-6:00 pm
Week 1: April 7th
Week 2: April 14th
Week 3: April 21th
April Art Show: Saturday, April 25th- times will vary & schedule to be posted.
This month’s projects include:
🐞 1. Pop-Out Abstract Garden
Artists will create a mixed media acrylic painting of an abstract garden filled with bright flowers and textured layers. The best part? Their bugs will actually pop off the paper! We’ll use layered materials to create dimension and bring their artwork to life.
🐜 2. Little Insect Worlds + Printmaking
Artists will design and draw their own tiny insect worlds. Where do their bugs live? What tiny details make it magical? Then we’ll experiment with printmaking techniques to add texture and repeating patterns.
🌷 3. Bold Floral Vase Painting
Artists will design a custom flower arrangement. They’ll decide on vase shapes and flower placement (optional templates available for support). Then they’ll mix their own custom paint colors and finish with bold black outlines to make their artwork POP.
Throughout the session, students will:
🐞Build confidence in creative decision making
🐞Learn color mixing skills
🐞Explore texture and layering
🐞Experiment with new techniques
🐞Create artwork they are proud to hang at home
