April Art Club
🐞🌸
Flowers & Bugs!

In our April Art Club session, artists ages 6-15 will explore painting, mixed media, drawing, and printmaking while creating bold, joyful spring-inspired artwork.

Spring is here, and we are celebrating with color, texture, and tiny magical worlds!

This month’s projects include:

🐞 1. Pop-Out Abstract Garden

Artists will create a mixed media acrylic painting of an abstract garden filled with bright flowers and textured layers. The best part? Their bugs will actually pop off the paper! We’ll use layered materials to create dimension and bring their artwork to life.

🐜 2. Little Insect Worlds + Printmaking

Artists will design and draw their own tiny insect worlds. Where do their bugs live? What tiny details make it magical? Then we’ll experiment with printmaking techniques to add texture and repeating patterns.

🌷 3. Bold Floral Vase Painting

Artists will design a custom flower arrangement. They’ll decide on vase shapes and flower placement (optional templates available for support). Then they’ll mix their own custom paint colors and finish with bold black outlines to make their artwork POP.

Throughout the session, students will:

🐞Build confidence in creative decision making
🐞Learn color mixing skills
🐞Explore texture and layering
🐞Experiment with new techniques
🐞Create artwork they are proud to hang at home

This session is perfect for creative kids who love color, imagination, and hands-on art experiences.

  • This class is designed especially for young artists who are just beginning their creative journey. Students will explore drawing, painting, and mixed media while building important foundational skills like fine motor control, listening and following directions, and creative confidence.

Lessons are playful, structured, and age-appropriate, with plenty of encouragement and guidance. Our goal is to help young artists feel proud of their work, excited to create, and confident expressing themselves through art.

  • Our intermediate class is designed for students who are ready to explore more advanced art concepts and techniques. Artists in this group will work on more complex projects, strengthen technical skills, and begin making creative decisions independently.

Intermediate Art Club – Age & Placement Rules

Our Intermediate Art Club is thoughtfully designed for artists within this specific age range. In this class, we slow down, focus on technique, and take on projects that require patience, detail, and creative problem-solving. It’s a space created especially for our older and advancing artists to stretch their skills and grow with confidence.

If you’re hoping to enroll siblings together, our Thursday classes are a wonderful option and are structured to better support mixed ages learning side by side.

To preserve the purpose and pace of this class, age exceptions are considered based on artistic readiness and ability — not convenience. We want to make sure every artist in the room is set up for success.

If you would like to request an age exception, please reach out to the studio before booking each new session, and we’ll be happy to guide you.

We’re so excited to continue helping your artists grow 🎨✨

Meet Mrs. Roebuck

meet mrs roebuck

I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember—ever since I could hold a crayon, creating has been part of who I am.

For the past 7 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching art to children at a local elementary school. But my love for art goes far beyond the classroom. I believe deeply in the magic of the creative process—the way experimenting with color, texture, and materials opens up imagination, builds confidence, and fosters meaningful connections.

Sunshine Art Studio has been a dream of mine for years—a place where kids and families in our community can come together to explore, play, and create freely. I’m passionate about providing a space where creativity is celebrated, messes are welcome, and the focus is on the experience of making art, not just the finished product.

At home, I’m a mom to two amazing teen boys. My husband, who’s a firefighter, and I have been married for 14 wonderful years. Our family knows firsthand how powerful it is to have a creative outlet, and I’m thrilled to be able to share that with others.

I can’t wait to welcome you into this creative space. Whether you're a young artist, a parent, or someone simply looking to tap into their creativity—we’re excited to meet you and make something amazing together!

Love, Mrs. Roebuck
