Girl Scout Painting Event 9/20 at 10:30 am - 8 artists

$200.00

Picasso Lesson Idea: Portraits were a main subject that Pablo Picasso painted. He painted people in a variety of styles but his use of Cubism with portraiture is especially notable. The faces of his subjects became disjointed as the face and body was turned into shapes and planes of space and then rearranged.  In this lesson, artists are sure to have fun adding noses, eyes and mouths in unexpected spots on their portraits. After drawing, artists will paint with tempera cakes to fill in the portrait with non-realistic colors. Finally, lines are added to create a layer of interest on the paint that is reminiscent of Picasso’s Portrait of Marie-Thérèse Walter, which was the primary inspiration for this lesson.

Choice Media: Tempera cakes on art paper

Cost: $25 per artist, must have a minimum of 8 artists. Maximum of 15 artists. $25 × 8 = $200 at booking. Final head count and any additional artist due 48 hours prior to event.
